Berg Headers

Berg is a genericised name for crimp-to-wire headers. The ones we bought are from Newark, made by FCI. FCI's web site (http://portal.fciconnect.com/portal/page/portal/FcicntPublic/HomePage) is great.

The connector bodies are these:

For some reason the contacts we buy, 48236-000LF don't appear as PV contacts, but are compatible and a valid part number. The PV contact part number under the PV menu seems to be 47565-002LF. Also the PV contacts come in varying grip strengths to prevent impossibility of insertion and removal for high numbers of contacts. See:

Details on the Hi-Pot machine

Hi-Pot just stands for High Potential. The Hi-Pot machine to be used will be this one:

Parameters to be set include:

Connection Resistance - 1 ohm
LV Insulation Resistance 100 M
HIPOT duration: 5 sec
HIPOT soak time 60 sec
Apply to all adapter pins
High Cap shield allowed
