Word 2016 section break on even number of pages

There is a section break type called "Section Break Even Page" which will do it.

However according to this article, the padding page is completely blank, with no headers or footers. That does seem rather weak. The article lists some tricks to get around this:

My document is having some of the weirdest list of figures issues I've seen so far, thanks most likely to the wonton cutting and pasting that I did early on in my rewrite. The main issues seem due to cuting and pasting text which had a figure with a caption, in which case the new figure number didn't update, and furthermore was invisible to group updating as well. After manually updating the caption number it would respond to group updating, but then I started having a new problem where the caption would appear in the list of figures, without the figure number!

Word 2010 keyboard shortcut to paste text only without formatting

When you paste using the right-click, you can select paste text only (which allows you to paste text using the formatting of the document that you are pasting into). Could there be a keyboard shortcut for this? Apparently yes, but it's not a simple keyboard shortcut, and there wasn't even an option before Word 2010.

The sequence is to use Ctrl-V to paste, which will paste using the undesired formatting of the text that you copied from. Then Word puts up that annoying tiny icon that blocks the text that you just pasted. Normally you would just hit ESC to make that thing go away so that you could work. At this point, push the Ctrl key and then let up on it, then press "t". The formatting of what wss just pasted reverts to the local formatting. Then click ESC.

Microsoft Word 2007 How to "unlock" documents marked as final

Marked as final documents come up with an "Edit anyway" button in Word 2010 but we just couldn't figure out how to do the same thing in Word 2007. Yay, there is a way, it's just buried way, way down in that damned 2007 "Microsoft Office Button" menu. Go to the M$Office button menu, find the choice for "Prepare", and click on "Mark As Final" to toggle it off.

Document was marked final by the author to discourage editing. Edit anyway?

For some reason, my co-worker is unable to edit these test procedures from the CM system, and has to request a special "unlocked" version from CM. When I download these documents and open them, all I get is the above message and a big friendly "Edit Anyway" button. We were trying to figure out why. He has Word 2007 while I have 2010, and that seems to be a likely source of the difference. In the end, it was easier just to get CM to send copies of the documents, but here are some barely-perused links on the subject:

How to set table column widths in Microsoft Word

Working in the despair-valley of M$Word 2010... although this problem has existed with many versions. Trying to freaking set the freaking table column widths using the Table Properties "column" tab and it just freaking doesn't do it.

The answer that none of the stupid web sites that Google came back with on the subject seem to be able to add is that the overall "Preferred Table Width" setting in the first tab is also in effect, and if the total column widths that I set exceed that value, M$Word just silently ignores column width settings. So, the procedure for setting column widths must include first setting "Preferred Table Width," and then setting column widths that add up to equal or less than the total width.

Fair enough, but I want to anyhow. If I paste in a section heading of the right indent from elsewhere in the document, it can't seem to figure out that it's supposed to be in section 10.0, and steadfastly decides that it will continue the last heading level that it was in or that for some reason continues to apply from way down where I am pasting to. Instead of 10.0.1, I'm getting 8.2.9. Who cares why, but to fix it, the solution is to paste it with the "start new list" option. Then, select "edit indent levels" which produces the screen with setting for each list level. Now the secret is that this window applies just to the list that the item that I'm editing is a member of, which is to say just itself. Assuming it says 8.0... 8.2... 8.29... for the three levels (Since I made this a new list, it probalby says 1.0.... 1.1.... 1.1.1....), I can just select the top level, set that to 10, set the middle level to 0, and viola.

There are probably some core concepts here which could be remembered for future use, but here's how to solve this one damn problem.
