Now with Movie Maker 6 it is possible to get the timeline view, and drag a video onto the audio pane to get the audio track only, and have multiple video clips open and place them on the timeline.
As an aside, this seems to be a tortuous way to extract audio from a video using the new feature-limited version of Movie Maker:
